Veterinarian: Lydia Aris, VMD:

“My mom always said that I was born to be a veterinarian.  I just love animals, and I always wanted to help them.”

Dr. Lydia Aris VMD has 8 years of experience as a veterinary technician, and then 24 years as a veterinarian. Dr. Aris graduated from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry with a Bachelor of Science, then received her Veterinary Medical Degree from University of Pennsylvania.  Prior to opening Southern Hills Veterinary Hospital, she had been working as a relief veterinarian.  This has given her a great opportunity to see and work in many different veterinary practices.

Dr. Aris was born in the Czech Republic and came to the US when she was five.  She grew up in Cazenovia.  She has lived in the Tully area for 20 years with her husband and two children.  She enjoys outdoor activities.  The whole family snowboards during the winter and hikes, swims, and camps in the summer.  Professionally, Dr. Aris has been a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, New York State Veterinary Society, and CNY Veterinary Medical Association since graduation. She is also a Nationally Accredited Veterinarian. For 10 years, she served as the CNYVMA treasurer and continues to be on the executive board. She is also a member of the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners, and Association of Sugar Glider Veterinarians.

 

Veterinary Technician: Sarah

Sarah grew up in Paradise Valley, Arizona and moved to Cortland, New York in 1999. She lives with her son, two dogs, a cat, a crested gecko and bearded dragon . She has always loved animals and grew up with many dogs, cats and other fur babies.

Sarah’s favorite past times are spending time with her family, traveling, hiking and reading.

 

Veterinary Assistant: Dave

“Only a person who loves a challenge would take on patients who can’t tell them where it hurts”

David grew up in Upstate New York and has traveled to many places. He now lives in Tully and he enjoys helping take care of his Father’s Basset Hound.

David has had many pets throughout his life and loves working with animals. He also likes to keep active by Blacksmithing, Woodworking and participating in outdoor activities.

Veterinary Assistant: Hannah

“A person who has a big heart and a thoughtful mind, they have the strength to do what is right even when it hurts and will always have the deepest love for all creatures.”

Hannah grew up in Upstate New York, She enjoys all different kinds of animals. She has had many pets in her life and now has horses, cats, dogs, chicken, ducks and geese.

Hannah loves to keep active with her daughter and husband sight seeing.
